The reason your local jewelry store, coin dealer, and that huge corporation on television want to pay you for your Gold is because Gold is projected by many to reach £1,200 (~$2,000 USD) per ounce by years end (2011). Even some lofty projections see Gold touching £3,000 (~$5,000 USD) in the next couple of years. Gold is also seen as a more stable investment than the stock market.
